Dr. Shane Needham received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Washington State University and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Rhode Island.  Dr. Shane Needham is Co-Founder and CEO of Veloxity Labs.  Veloxity Labs is a CRO located in IL that is a leader in bioanalysis.  Shane has more than 100 publications on bioanalysis and is often an invited speaker on expert panels.  Veloxity Labs is a winner of several awards at the local and regional level.  His laboratory leads in the area of dried blood spot (DBS) analysis, microflow HPLC-MS/MS and large molecule (ADC’s, biomarkers, NBE’s, etc.) to support DMPK research.

Dr. Needham has been the chair and organizer of several workshops at national conferences.  Dr. Needham was program chair of the 2013 CPSA-USA conference.  Dr. Needham also teaches LC/MS courses at international conferences including, Pittcon and AAPS conferences.  Dr. Needham is also a reviewer for several peer reviewed journals including, Bioanalysis, Journal of Chromatography, Analytical Chemistry and Journal of Chromatographic Science.  Dr. Needham also serves on the editorial board for the publication, American Pharmaceutical Review.  Dr. Needham is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Society for Mass Spectrometry, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the International Society of the Study of Xenobiotics.

Dr. Needham is board member on several foundations, including a founding member of the CPSA Foundation.  The CPSA Foundation is a non-profit foundation for the support and betterment of students in the pharmaceutical sciences.  Dr. Needham is a board member of the Professional Science Master’s Program at Washington State University.

Shane has four children, Berlyn, Britton, Scotlin and Finnlan and considers his children his biggest accomplishment.

Shane was a coach of Moscow Wrestling Club from 2010-2017.  As the club continued to grow, Shane moved into the Director role in 2014.  Under Shane the club experienced >20% annual growth.  Since 2012 the club has >9 state champions and 30 state placers.

​

Shane is a champion bodybuilder and state champion powerlifter. Shane also considers nutrition and a healthy lifestyle a passion.
